The App is location based and presently activated for Raigad district (Maharashtra state), India. Raigad falls in the Konkan Division of Maharashtra state. Arabian Sea coast forms western boundary of the district. It covers a geographical area of 7,000 square kilometres with a total population of approximately 3.4 million over half of which comprises rural areas where most small landholding farmers are based and hold an average operational landholding size of around 3 acres.
The climate of Raigad is typical of that on the western coast of India, characterised by oppressive summer months, wet monsoon, and cool winter. The summer months from April to June are rather hot and uncomfortable with an average temperature of around 29°C. The month of July marks the onset of monsoon which continues till mid-October. With an average annual rainfall of 3,884 mm, the monsoon period provides respite after the hot and sultry summer days. The winter monthsfrom November to February experience a cool and pleasant weather. The temperature hovers around 29°C but one can expect the mercury to dip as low as 10°C.
